If you want to know more about the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, just Ask The Auxiliary and most of your questions will be answered.

Division 5 maintains a list of LOCAL BOATING CLASSES. Be sure to check back often if you don't see a class that is in your area, this list is updated every two weeks.

Do you need a VESSEL SAFETY CHECK, this site can help you see if your vessel is ready for one and then point you in the right direction to find a local VESSEL EXAMINER in your location.

Before you go  on a boating trip be sure to check your LOCAL WEATHER
conditions and be sure to check the LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS. This time of year they can change from hour to hour.

Please be aware of the 100 YARD APPROACH WARNING when you come upon a Military Vessel in our local waters. Due to 9/11 this area is well protected.

A FLOAT PLAN is an essential item to fill out before venturing into the waters, even if you think you are only going out for a couple of hours, things happen, the weather changes and you have to get into quick shelter or you loose a prop, or  you run out of fuel, and because of our lack of local currents you can be out there for many hours. With a float plan you are at least assured someone can have a starting point to find you. But be sure you do not file the float plan with the Coast Guard, leave it with a neighbor or a friend.

If you feel that you  need to take a BOATING COURSES, there are many available, or you can take a NAVIGATION RULES test on line. courtesy of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
